Coming Out Simulator 2014 - a half-true game about half-truths

Coming Out Simulator is exactly what it says it is. It’s a free-to-play conversation simulator based on/inspired by the personal story of coming out of its creator, Nicky Case.

There’s no easy answer in Coming Out Simulator, no optimal ending to be achieved if you collect the requisite amount of points. Case based the game off a pivotal moment in his own life as a teenager. And just like in real life, the moment of “coming out” in this game is traumatic no matter which way the player chooses to approach it.

Ultimately, it’s liberating as well. But that’s not what the brunt of the experience playing Coming Out Simulator is actually like. […] There’s power in exploring a fantasy like the one in Mass Effect 3, but there’s also power in being reminded that “coming out” the way one does in that game is a fantasy, and a pretty far-fetched one for many people who faced far more difficult challenges when they actually came out.

Coming Out Simulator is a game about that second experience. It’s a painful one. But it’s also a necessary one, that I think more people who’ve never had to struggle with their own sexual identity should see for themselves.

Anonymous asked:

What does Nash Grier had done?

actionables answered:

What hasn’t he done?

(he only apologized for that Vine when he got serious backlash, and he deleted it right away, just like he did with his video ‘What Guys Look For In Girls’, but he constantly uses slurs)

Where did he move on to? To a trashcan???

(FYI he never apologized for this video, he just removed it because he was being criticized)

You can watch the video here.

Decide for yourself if you like Nash or not after watching it, I don’t care. It’s like girls are not pressured enough to be perfect in today’s society to be as perfect as possible for ‘their man’ as they can be. What’s worse, his followers doubled, then tripled, than quadrupled after this video, even though he deleted it, and so many teen girls went to his defense. He criticized probably most of them and he still has them as his fans. He set up unrealistic standards for them and they don’t love themselves enough to realize what piece of shit he is. It’s tragic. He has a huge influence on his mass following, who are mostly teenage girls, and instead of teaching them to love themselves, he taught them they are not good enough for him. He sent them 60 years in the past, when women were the perfect trophy that lived by certain standards.

Also, he treats his followers badly.

I wish he wasn’t relevant right now and he didn’t have millions of followers that look up to him, but he is and he does. I wish we could just pretend he doesn’t exist, but if we do that, we’re not helping to stop him in any way. He does not deserve to be talked about, but he is, and we have to make sure people at least know that he’s talked about in a negative way and for a reason.

It’s beyond my understanding why this little lemur still has any followers.

He’s the biggest piece of shit EVER.

I think a bigger piece of shit would be a congress man passing laws limiting gay rights. Or maybe the supreme court ruling corporations have religious rights.

While he’s a religious 16 year old kid. Of course he doesn’t like gays, most religious people - DON’T LIKE GAYS.

And no one here wants to hear this, but he probably helps cheer a lot of people up. If I get emails saying I help people get by sometimes, I’m sure someone much much much more popular than me does as well.

SORRY TUMBLR I DONT GET YOU. Don’t get too mad at me though, I’m a sensitive guy and I don’t know how to argue so I might resort to homophobic and racial slurs.

I get your point - we’re all ignorant until educated. Hell I said and did some disastrous shit when I was his age. I guess the problem with Nash though is the sheer frequency of his fuckupery. He’s powered through his “second chance” and by now he’s well into his fifteenth. It’s so painfully frustrating when someone with that much influence is - even unintentionally - promoting and popularising hatred.
